At the heart of Leeds Docks is the Royal Armouries Leeds, a wonderful place of history, holding and displaying an expansive collection of arms and armour dating back to the Middle Ages.
One of three sites, the Royal Armouries Museum was purpose-built in order to safely store one of the most important collections in the world that is available for all to view, enjoy and learn from.
The Royal Armouries Leeds is a place of stories, reenactments and a variety of activities to take part in, whether that’s watching a horse show or taking court with the Mad King himself, George III! Budding historians, culture lovers and adventure seekers will have a fantastic day out when visiting and there is an up to date calendar of the Royal Armouries Leeds events available on their website.
Set over five floors, the Royal Armouries boast thousands of historic relics including incredible royal armours from the Tudors, hunting and sporting weapons dating back hundreds of years and an impressive collection of arms from the English Civil War.
